Slow Down Baby

This little lady is six months!!

Red hair, blue eyes, 12 pounds 8 ounces and 24.5 inches long and completely smothered and adored by her brothers!! She is the apple of their eye!

This time last year I was still in my first trimester, feeling a lot of anxiety and uncertainty not knowing whether I would ever hold this little one. Praying for a miracle that maybe this would be the time. We were covered in prayer by so many people including our sons. They prayed so fervently for a little sister and God answered.

Some days it’s still hard to believe that this is my life and I am so grateful. The past six months have gone by so quickly, wishing I could slow it down to savor each moment just a bit more as she is growing and changing so fast. I tend to get a bit emotional when I have to pack away clothes she has outgrown or see a newborn baby. With our history of infertility it makes each growing moment bittersweet, as this may be the only baby we are blessed with.

I have loved seeing her little personality unfold, yet a tad frightened because it seems to be very similar to mine. She is full of spunk, loves to talk and knows what she wants. Not afraid to let you know if she isn’t happy, but always ready to give you a big toothless smile. She prefers that strangers keep their distance and is currently very partial to mom. Oh and she has the cutest little laugh, which her brothers daily bring out.

She has stolen our hearts and brings more love and joy to our beautiful family each day!!

You sound just like my daughter in law. Their little girl my be their only child also. I as grandma say the same thing SLOW down but also I’m totally enjoying all the stages as she is 21 months. It is so heart breaking for everyone when there are infertilely issues.
