Gone Fishin’

Our Memorial Day weekend was spent relaxing with family at the lake. The weather was cool and rainy almost the entire time, as in a constant drizzle most of the day. Despite the weather it didn’t keep these first time fishermen away from getting their first catch.

They displayed a lot more patience than I have for standing in the rain trying to catch a fish, but the wait was worth it as they each were able to reel in a couple.

We also managed to sneak in a few boat rides in between the rain. It brought me so much joy to see my sons excited about something I also love to do in the summer, boating and being by the water!

I guess I am still on the learning curve when it comes to packing for the kiddos, especially if the forecast is rain. In my mind I just assumed if it was raining they wouldn’t want to be outside, so it appeared that I packed our whole house except the rain boots and rain coats. That said, now I know for next time!
